Hope everyone is staying sane, keeping busy in this social isolation time! This blog post as you can tell from the title, is a product review! I teamed up with Indeed Labs to participate in their Clearify Oil project to see the results that their product will give me. And I am in love with the process and results.

note: the Clearify Oil was gifted to me

Most often we are using different types of drying lotions in hopes of combating breakouts. Though this may work for some, this type of self-inflicted dehydration strips the skin of its natural oils, which can lead to an overproduction sebum. With an overproduction of sebum, you’re prone to acne breakouts, that is it becomes a catalyst for acne.

The Clearify Oil is designed for those with acne-prone and problematic skin. This facial oil is designed to put an end to this cycle. This product uses the power of natural extracts from the Ginger family and the Japenese Lotus Flower. “This facial oil gets straight to the root of the problem and controls the oil” as noted on their website. This facial oil also has salicylic acid, which works to exfoliate dead skin cells to dissolve skin debris. This product includes Argan Oil as well, which is a lightweigght and non-comodogenic oil, to leave the skin deeply moisturized, nourished, smooth, and never greasy! Perfect for those with inflamed, and acne prone skin. With continued use, the skin will appear smooth, hydrated and matte. This product is roughly $22.99. At Shoppers Drug Mart here in Toronto, it retails for $24.99

BENEFITS
  • Controls oil
  • Nourishes skin
  • Improves appearance and texture
  • Good for acne-prone skin

APPLICATION

Apply 2-3 drops to freshly cleaned skin, AM and/or PM. Continue with a moisturizer! If you’d like to pair with their products, try their hydraluron range.

KEY INGREDIENTS

DermalRX CKW: Using a combination of two extracts from the Ginger family, this active inhibits 5a-reductase activity to decrease the over-production of sebum

Nelupure: Using extracts from the Egypt and Sacred Lotus, Nelupure helps to balance the secretion of inflammation- and acne-causing sebum

Salicylic Acid: This acid is one of the most common ingredients used in acne-treatments. This acid helps to exfoliate dead skin cells, and unclog pores. As a result, breakouts, blackheads and whiteheads are reduced

Argan Oil: A non-comedogenic oil that is high in antioxidants and nourishing fatty acids to hydrate dry and stressed skin

Antioxidant as described by Indeed Labs

Antioxidants prevent free radicals from damaging cells, which stops or decreases oxidation. These compounds donate electrons to free radicals, making them unable to damage other cells. Some of the most common antioxidants used in skincare are: Vitamin A (retinol), Vitamin E (tocopherol), Vitamin C (ascorbic acid), and Coenzyme Q10.

SKIN PROGRESS: THROUGH THE 30 DAY JOURNEY

Now on to my progress. Below is a gallery, in order from when the photos were taken, all spread out throughout the 30-day journey.

My first picture (taken Feb 24): Taken 4 days into using the product. You can clearly see I had a few fresh breakouts between the eybrows, and on my nose, with acne scarring visible. I started breaking out the same time I decided to start this journey. What perfect timing because this really allowed my skin to take in the product itself, let it work its magic without me extracting or touching the pimple at all.

3rd photo (taken March 14): Those reoccurring pimples between eyebrows have diminished naturally. Noticeably brighter skin, and acne scarring is less visible.

2nd last picture: Overall skin is brighter, not as noticeable acne scarring in the chin especially

Last picture (taken Friday March 27): Chin acne scarring is “almost gone”. Overall my skin is happy! My skin has become brighter, hydrated, more supple skin, and most noticeable is my acne scarring that is managed with the Clearify Oil.

Here’s a side by side comparison:
