This week’s blog post I thought I’d share with you my top favourite must have skincare products. Previously I have done a “bare necessities” post as well, where I covered a bunch of different products.

These products I’m about to list are products I have not listed in the previous one, so let’s dive right in!

MAD HIPPIE

One company that I have been raving about recently is MAD HIPPIE. Mad Hippie is a skincare brand that is made in the USA. They are a natural skincare company that doesn’t believe in additives, is cruelty free, vegan, and gives back to non-profits.

Mad Hippie was built on the notion that natural skin care can be every bit as effective as traditional. Parabens, synthetic fragrance, dyes, petrochemicals, PEGs, SLS and other nasty additives aren’t necessities.  In fact, they have no place in the products we, and those we love, put on our bodies.

I have reviewed their products in full detail, to which I will provide the link for you to head over. Below I will attach my photos of the two products I have reviewed in depth!

INDEED LABS: CLEARIFY FACIAL OIL

IMG_1778.jpeg

IMG_3494.jpegIndeed Labs is a Canadian-based skincare company that started in 2011. Their goal is to make people feel comfortable showing their real selves infront of HD cameras and behind their selfie sticks everywhere. Since, they’ve created products that are high quality and deliver real results, with no focus on one type of skin issue or age group.

I partnered up with them recently to test their clearify oil in hopes that it outweighs all other acne products I have used. I set out 30 days using their product morning and/or night every day to show how my skin reacted. And to my surprise, this product has worked like no other.

Check my before & after results in the photos here and the in depth product review below.

My Thoughts

I personally think this mask is great. The texture is very thick and creamy unlike other clay masks that seem a bit rough in texture. Because of the texture it almost feels hydrating as well. The ingredients in this mask work together to absorb excess sebum, and exfoliate your skin. A little bit of this mask over your skin goes a long way due to the texture/consistency. To maximize the product, use a brush to smooth over your skin, by doing so you can spread the mask evenly without wasting any product! Use this product multiple times for maximum results.

Murad Time Release Blemish Cleanser

I have tried both acne cleansers from Murad, and both are absolutely fantastic. They are my holy grail acne products. The Clarifying Cleanser is part of the acne kit of 3 products. However, below I will discuss the Time Release Blemish Cleanser, which is the one I am currently using.

About the Time Release Cleanser

This medicated gel-cream cleanser is formulated for acne-prone skin. It helps clear blemishes and purify the skin without over-drying. A sustained release of salicylic acid helps treat your acne for up to 8 hours after rinse-off. The hydrating amino acids and hyaluronic acid help bind moisture to the skin keeping it hydrated. The product is great for all skin types.

Ingredients:

  • Salicylic Acid (0.5%): gently exfoliates to reduce pore-clogging debris
  • Amino acids & hyaluronic acid: hydrates skin
  • Sesame seed & fruit extracts: help control shine and soothe skin

My Thoughts

I have been using Murad acne cleansers for quite some time now. And honestly they are one of the key products in my skincare routine that help manage my acne. The small percentage of salicylic acid is gentle enough for everyday use making it optimal for me to focus on other problems in my skin after cleansing. I find that my skin has gotten adjusted to using this frequently, so when I start to use other cleansers it doesn’t feel as clean. With continuous and frequent use of Murad cleansers, my skin battles the acne on a regular basis without having to use other acne products unless really needed. Hands down my favourite acne cleanser.

That’s all folks! I hope you enjoyed my updated list of products I consider my bare necessities. These products all together have come to really bring out the best in my skin and I could not be happier. The results in my photos do not lie. Not only does your food diet, supplements and water intake play a huge factor in skin health, but the products you use do as well. You always want to make sure you listen to your skin. Give it what it needs. And always give it time to heal. You don’t really know if products work for you unless you try it for at least a week!

If you’ve tried any of these, or are going to, tell me which you’re excited to try!

Once again, thank you so much for tuning in.

With love,

Pris Wong xo
