For many, this means back to school. And for others, this just means fall is right around the corner. The drop in temperature, and the rise in stress begins, which also means that these changes can have a great impact on your skin. LUCKILY, FOR THE BOTH OF US, I LOVE COVERING SKINCARE! With the end of summer, and (almost) Fall, Zue Beauty sent me some skincare to review! And with skin care, you best believe I’m going to spend weeks trying. In all instances where you are introducing new products into your skincare routine, you must introduce them one at a time, over a span of days. You never want to just completely throw it in there and expect no breakouts. So, please ladies and gents, introduce them SLOWLY into your routine, and use them for weeks in order to see the maximum results.

It was a goal of mine a few years back to use as many vegan, all-natural, and cruelty free beauty products as possible. In case you’re new here, my every day makeup routine is ALL CRUELTY FREE. You can find the link to that post here.

Now, my next goal is to include some skincare products that not only work well for my skin but is also vegan, natural, and cruelty free as well, and Zue Beauty makes that so much easier for me! Now I can enjoy the goodness of the products, knowing that they give back!

ABOUT THEIR QUINOA-BASED PRODUCTS

Quinoa is a superfood, but it also has skin care properties. Quinoa is packed with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and essential amino acids – all that carry the power to restore and revitalize your skin. With the wide benefits on quinoa, it is also gluten-free and one of the few plant foods that contain all nine essential amino acids that can improve and preserve the health and appearance of your skin.

Quinoa is packed with calcium, zinc, iron, phosphorous, fiber, manganese (helps protect skin from free radicals that cause cellular damage), and significant amounts of certain tocopherols (vitamin E family members). As previously mentioned, it has powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory phytonutrients making it a likely candidate for cancer risk reduction in humans.

All organic ingredients are harvested in small parcels by indigenous farmers in Southern Colombia. Each master farmer specializes in one crop variety, which he meticulously nurtures for 6 to 8 months before harvesting. This unique process is known to the region to ensure the most natural ingredients and a guarantee freshness and quality that is not found anywhere else in the world.

EXFOLIATING FACIAL SCRUB

Don’t let the word “exfoliating” fool you. This aromatherapy-based product is a soft and delicate exfoliator making it great for sensitive skin. It’s packed with micro apricot seeds that are very gentle yet very effective. Exfoliators are great to polish away the dead skin cells, improving the skin’s texture.

The Exfoliating Facial Scrub has quinoa extract that reduces the appearance of pores and promotes even skin tone while the aloe vera soothes and moisturizes to help soften skin. Macadamia nut oil and sesame seeds promotes hydration, revealing a radiant and flawless complexion with a light scent of lemon verbena.

Benefits:

  • Purifies pores

  • Diminishes dullness for glowing, youthful-looking skin

  • Made with quinoa, aloe vera and micro-pulverized apricot seeds

My thoughts:

First impressions I was expecting a slightly harsher texture since it’s an exfoliating scrub, however, it was very light. With multiple uses, I began loving this product the more I used it. With a continued use this product has helped to reduce the appearance of pores around my nose, evened my skin tone, and maintained moisture to my skin. The scent of lemon verbena took some getting used to, but now I don’t mind it. My skin almost thanks me after using this product with the great ingredients!

Highly recommend to those with sensitive skin.

RESTORING NIGHT CREAM

The powerful overnight restoring night cream is of course made with quinoa, so it deeply moisturizes, improves smoothness, elasticity, boosts natural collagen production and promotes even skin tone. This product includes seaweed and gotu kola that helps to cleanse acne-prone skin, plus reduces the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

If that wasn’t enough, it improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots. Not to mention, like the other products, the high antioxidant content from the quinoa protects the skin from the aggression of free radicals.

Benefits:

  • includes quinoa, cucumber and panthenol

  • ingredients included: lemon verbena, tea tree oil

  • amazing smell – aromatherapy based

My thoughts:

This is a very lightweight night cream so it is great for the hotter seasons. I love my heavy, thick night creams during the winter, so this is perfect for the hotter seasons. This kept the moisture in my skin, and improved the elasticity in my skin! My favourite part of this is that there is tea tree in this so it is great for acne-prone skin. A great night cream that moisturizes and helps to combat acne is a great product. I recommend for those with sensitive skin and acne-prone skin, along with anyone who doesn’t like heavy night creams.

That’s all folks! I hope you enjoyed this. I truly did spend at least a month with these products! Never use a product once or twice and expect the maximum results! It takes time!

Toronto folks, if you’d like to purchase this in store, you can find it at Carrot Commons at 348 Danforth Avenue.

Also, if you want to see these products in action, I have a Get Unready with Me video that I filmed when I visited Montreal up on my Instagram TV profile! Comment in the IGTV a heart emoji if you came from my blog!
