Toronto’s 2nd annual Foodalicious Food Festival took over Downsview Park on Saturday June 9th, and Sunday June 10th, 2018. This was an event produced by Superior Events Group Inc., who I am lucky enough to be collaborating with this summer.

This year they brought back their large selection of Toronto’s top food trucks, carnival games, inflatables, stage shows, live music and many more!

LET THE FOODALICIOUS JOURNEY BEGIN…..

#FoodalicousTO was the start to my eventful weekend as I was celebrating my 25th birthday. I attended the event with my best friend/photographer, Anna Kong, (pictured below) where we got a taste of many foods there! So I’m here today, to take you through my Foodalicious journey!

CAFE AMADA BY CHANCHITOS

Website: www.chanchitoscatering.com

Cafe Amanda holds snack options on their menu which is a fantastic idea at a food festival! To start off we thought to go for something light – chimmichurri shrimp. Except, they didn’t have enough shrimps (and this was their first day within only a few hours of opening). They told me it usually consists of two skewers – however they only had enough for one, without telling me there would only be two shrimps. So I agreed, we wanted a snack anyway. To our disappointment, we found two shrimps. BUT, they were really good shrimps! We both had never had chimmichurri so we were happy with the taste.

CHURROS! from Panchos Bakery

This was my first time eating churros… Quite sad to be honest. I’m not quite sure why I haven’t had churros before because the perfectly deep fried crispy dough with the combination of the sugar and cinnamon are amazing! I love crispy things. You are able to get chocolate, caramel or strawberry filling, or just plain if you are someone like me who loves to eat things as is! I particularly loved the plain one and caramel.

Yum, a churro would be perfect right about now …

They promised you inflatables.. and inflatables you got! Take a picture with this Food Truck inflatable and post it on Instagram with their handle #FoodalicousTO! So here’s mine:

JERK CHICKEN POUTINE. Must I say more?? Jerk chicken on all that goodness that is of poutine – cheese and gravy on fries! With a sprinkle of green onions! Yum! The jerk chicken was perfectly done, well seasoned, and worth eating. I love #poutine, and #jerkchickenpoutine.
